About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join WSP as an Associate Electrical Engineer in our Texas District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with various electrical engineering tasks, including data collection, analysis, and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components, equipment specifications, and design processes.
  • Perform basic professional electrical engineering work, including design of single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and substation layouts.
  • Provide technical assistance on design requirements, equipment sizing, and cabling.
  • Support senior engineers with research and recommendations on design requirements and field equipment applications.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, and voltage drop.
  • Write technical reports summarizing research findings and conclusions.
  • Assist with risk identification and assessment, and offer input and analysis on design concepts and construction activities.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of relevant post-education experience in electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and processes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
