Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst to perform complex administrative duties and data analysis, including statistical, financial, and operational reporting, to support management decision-making. The ideal candidate will identify trends, discrepancies, and variances to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with internal departments, external agencies, and vendors, while exercising a high level of independent judgment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extract primary data from Oracle Database using SQL.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques; provide ongoing reports.
  • Provide timely and accurate data for internal and external requests.
  • Identify, compile, and clean data for research projects.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Communicate evaluation plans and details to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external research partners to ensure accurate data interpretation.
  • Develop and monitor internal and external data requests.
  • Manage, summarize, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Summarize and explain research findings and their implications.
  • Prepare findings for publication.
  • Develop, review, and abstract published research.
  • Produce data visualization dashboards using Tableau.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in a related lead or supervisory role, or
  • Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four years of related experience, including two years in a lead or supervisory role, or
  • Two years of experience at the lower level of IT Business Analyst or an equivalent position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (e.g., Business Objects), databases (SQL, Oracle), and programming languages (XML, JavaScript, ETL frameworks).
  • Significant experience in accessing and extracting data from organizational databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in the Criminal Justice field and/or Data Management/Analysis.
  • Proficiency in queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Experience using data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).
