We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. As a Research Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the research efforts of our laboratory, contributing to the development of new research projects, and collaborating with our team to achieve our research goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct laboratory experiments and data analysis to support research projects
- Develop and implement new research protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with research team members to design and execute research studies
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of research data and results
- Present research findings at lab meetings and conferences
- Bachelor's degree in Biological or Natural Science, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of lab safety and protocols
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to analyze data in a quantitative and objective manner
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Laboratory and classroom experience in chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology
- Experience with mammalian tissue culture
- Experience with molecular biology (western blot analysis, PCR, plasmid cloning and handling)
- Prior experience introducing genetic reagents to cells (e.g. lentiviral delivery of CRISPR reagents, electroporation or transfection)
- Basic lab-related computer skills (e.g. manipulating of data in Excel or GraphPad Prism, coding in R or Python, preparing figures in the Adobe suite)
