Job Description

The Director of Lean Operations and Improvement will be responsible for improving the lean thinking and execution capabilities of project teams across the organization. This includes coaching and mentoring front-line staff and senior leadership in lean methods and improvement techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean principles and experience in deploying lean methodologies in complex technical environments. They will be responsible for developing and implementing value stream improvement plans that align with business goals and project leadership.

The Director will also be responsible for developing capabilities at all levels by planning and imparting lean skills and knowledge at the work-fronts. This includes cultural transformation and developing the ability to practice lean by transference of skills, knowledge, and lean values experientially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor front-line staff and senior leadership in lean methods and improvement techniques
  • Develop and implement value stream improvement plans that align with business goals and project leadership
  • Develop capabilities at all levels by planning and imparting lean skills and knowledge at the work-fronts
  • Drive cultural transformation and develop the ability to practice lean by transference of skills, knowledge, and lean values experientially

Requirements:

  • Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in engineering or technical field
  • Experience ranging from 5 years upwards of intense application of lean methods and kaizen activity within construction
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's degree or global equivalent) in engineering discipline or technical field, or administration area
  • Professional engineering registration
