Computational Biologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing genomic data analysis and interpretation, working closely with researchers and laboratories to design and execute experiments on high-throughput sequencing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments on high-throughput sequencing platforms
• Employ genomic and statistical tools for the analysis of sequencing datasets
• Develop and manage large repositories of sequence data
• Perform basic and complex analyses on different types of sequence datasets
• Assist in writing manuscripts and grants, focusing on technical and methodological aspects

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in bioinformatics, genomics, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java
• Experience with genomic and statistical tools, such as Bioconductor, Galaxy, or similar
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
