We are seeking a detail-oriented Line Cook with a strong enthusiasm for culinary arts. As an essential part of our kitchen brigade, the Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, plating, and maintaining cleanliness at their designated stations to deliver exceptional meals for our patrons.

Kalimotxo is a Spanish dining and cocktail establishment under the Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishing your station and efficiently managing your daily preparation tasks.
  • Receiving deliveries from suppliers and ensuring all ingredients meet our high-quality standards.
  • Supporting various kitchen stations and delivering beautifully prepared items to the line as required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace, including all culinary and food storage areas.
  • Employing exceptional cooking techniques.
  • Preparing the kitchen for outstanding service by adhering to prep lists, organizing ingredients, and following portion guidelines.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure service is executed in a positive and respectful environment.
  • Exhibiting a positive demeanor and matching the pace of a busy kitchen during peak service times.
  • Keeping an open mind to learn new skills and embrace innovative recipes.
  • Working safely and hygienically at all times to protect the health and safety of colleagues and diners.
  • Completing opening and closing duties as well as additional cleaning tasks as necessary.
  • Assisting team members to ensure efficient meal service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A cheerful, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for crafting delightful dishes.
  • A collaborative spirit, willing to support colleagues and adapt to changing situations.
  • A hospitality-oriented individual who remains calm under pressure, resolves issues, and anticipates the needs of the kitchen.
  • Organized and detail-focused individuals who can prioritize effectively and maintain a steady workflow.
  • Strong communication skills, both professional and concise, while actively listening to others.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum of eight hours.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a line cook in a reputable full-service or fast-casual setting.
  • Flexibility in scheduling; shifts may vary.
  • Basic math and critical thinking skills for following prep work and recipe requirements.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, from relaxed morning shifts to bustling dinner services.

ARRIVE Austin employs a restaurant-wide tip pooling model. Compensation range includes base wage plus average tips.
