Organization: Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is actively seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist. This role is vital in ensuring the operational efficiency of our facilities, which serve a diverse community.
The ideal candidate will align with Our Mission: Creating a better world by serving people in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine and essential mechanical upkeep across the designated facilities, including plumbing, electrical systems, appliance maintenance, and HVAC systems, adhering to the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Implements preventative maintenance protocols for facility equipment, ensuring maintenance rooms and related storage areas are organized and meet cleanliness standards.
- Performs general custodial tasks, which include cleaning, dusting, and the high-speed buffing and waxing of floors.
- Handles grounds maintenance as required, which encompasses landscaping, planting, watering, and snow removal during winter months.
- Executes general carpentry and finishing tasks, including interior and exterior painting, drywall patching, and flooring installation/removal.
- Undertakes basic plumbing tasks.
- Conducts electrical repairs on facility equipment.
- Performs general repairs on appliances and small equipment.
- Demonstrates flexibility to work at various facilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Some college education or vocational training is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant maintenance experience is required.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including those facing homelessness or low-income challenges, is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of facility and grounds maintenance.
- Basic competencies in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Strong customer service skills.
