Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our public library spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of library facilities and grounds.
  • Maintain floors, including stairs and halls, by vacuuming, sweeping, waxing, buffing, and mopping.
  • Perform routine cleaning of offices, public areas, restrooms, and staff lounge, including dusting, polishing, emptying wastebaskets, sorting recyclables, and removing trash and recyclables.
  • Assist with general groundskeeping work, including weeding, raking, irrigation, snow and ice removal, and washing windows.
  • Perform special tasks that may involve heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment, such as setting up meeting rooms, moving file cabinets, assembling furniture, etc.
  • May drive the library van on a scheduled delivery route to each branch library.
  • Unload and load materials and equipment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to learn and follow cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Some light maintenance skills highly desirable.
