Job Title: Associate Scientist, Process Development

Matica Biotechnology, Inc. is a leading biopharmaceutical research and development company. We are seeking an Associate Scientist, Process Development to join our team in the Bryan-College Station area.

Job Summary:

The Associate Scientist, Process Development will be responsible for developing and optimizing processes to facilitate manufacturing and client requirements. This role will utilize scientific knowledge and basic understanding of cell and virus culture, purification, and aseptic techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute experimental protocols under the direction of a senior scientist or supervisor in a team environment.
  • Assist in authoring and revision of SOPs, data presentations, study design and protocols.
  • Collaborate and have excellent communication with stakeholders and departments within Matica.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on the set up, execution and analysis of experimental protocols and technical reports.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of lab equipment including automated cell counters, bio-analyzers, microscopes, pumps, bioreactors, scales, tubing welders/sealers and pH/conductivity meters.
  • Maintain lab cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain good communication across the team and to leadership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree minimum in a scientific discipline e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, etc.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a cGMP, cGLP and/or FDA-regulated environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Extra weight will be given to relevant Process Development experience.
