Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position in Human Services. This is an ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean
  • Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content
  • Assess student learning outcomes
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field
  • Continuing professional development
  • Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties
  • Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position
  • Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review
  • Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean
Requirements
  1. A master's degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Guidance Counseling, Educational Counseling, Social Work, or Career Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling; OR a bachelor's degree in any of the above listed degrees AND a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); OR the equivalent
  2. An equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment
