Adjunct Library Advisor

Job Summary:

Rose State College is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Adjunct Advisor to provide reference services and support to our students and faculty. As a key member of our Library team, you will be responsible for assisting customers with directional questions, locating needed information, and utilizing various library resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide reference services to internal and external customers, including directional questions and information retrieval.
  • Assist customers with locating needed information and materials, utilizing the library online catalog, indexes, and reference materials.
  • Receive and assist with incoming customer inquiries and requests.
  • Facilitate customers' use of various computer software, including MS Office, learning management systems, and minor hardware issues.
  • Conduct electronic database searches using various service providers.
  • Provide information literacy sessions as needed.
  • Serve as the librarian-in-charge and supervise Library staff on duty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Reference Services.

Requirements:

  • M.L.S. Degree from an ALA-accredited school or equivalent.
  • Work experience in a library setting.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with computer catalogs and a basic understanding of library organization.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing services to adult customers in a library setting.
  • Proficiency with a Learning Management System such as Canvas and video conferencing tools such as Zoom.
