Job SummaryThis is a unique opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist to work with kindergarten teachers and students to provide language support and development to instruction. The successful candidate will work directly with students to address their needs as well as co-teach daily whole group lessons with teachers to grow their capacity to address the language delays found in our student population.
Key Responsibilities- Co-plan, prepare, and team teach in all assigned classes, embedding best practices for language and vocabulary development.
- Work with students evidencing language delay.
- Identify and screen students who need additional support and referral to the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
- Serve as a liaison between the charter school and related service providers.
- Analyze data on student learning to identify needs for improvement in instruction.
- Administer and consult on diagnostic evaluations.
- Participate as a resource person for in-service training and planning.
- Participate in professional development.
- Understand, practice, and be accountable for professional expectations.
- Demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree, required.
- Masters in Speech Pathology with Certificate, preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in a public or private school, preferably in an urban setting; or experience working with groups of children and youth, preferably in an urban setting; within the candidate's special skill area preferred.
