Job Overview

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Materials Analyst to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Nuclear Materials Analyst, you will be responsible for performing initial calibrations, qualifications and certifications for NDA instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • NDA Instrument Calibration: Perform initial calibrations, qualifications and certifications for NDA instruments to ensure accurate detection and measurement of radioactive materials.
  • Data Analysis: Provide expert technical data analysis services to support the development of radiation detection systems.
  • Consultation: Offer consultation on NDA matters to various facility departments and organizations, including nuclear safety, safeguards, nuclear materials control and accountability, waste characterization, waste disposal and operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide regulatory audit defense support for customer programs and remain knowledgeable of current and developing technologies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred) in physical science or engineering and 5+ years NDA experience; or 10+ equivalent years of experience in the NDA field.
  • Clearance: Candidates selected must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Skills: Demonstrated relevant experience in a nuclear materials experimental and/or production environment, expertise in a wide range of nuclear NDA techniques and their application, qualified in accordance with ASTM C-1490-04, familiarity with data acquisition and analysis software packages, and effective technical problem solving techniques.
Salary and Benefits
