Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing clinical patient services and support within the location.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assume on-call responsibilities for phone consultations during non-business hours as outlined by Rotech's policy.
  • Conduct patient assessments per Rotech's policy and procedure and the physician's order.
  • Maintain a complete listing of all current respiratory patients.
  • Maintain documentation of all services provided and all work performed.
  • Monitor ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment.
  • Provide in-home visits to patients.
  • Provide initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients.
  • Provide patient education as applicable.
  • Set up all highly technical respiratory equipment.
  • Support orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Manager.
Qualifications
  • Employment is contingent on a background investigation, drug screen, and valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record.
  • Required Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, and credentials as a respiratory therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Preferred Education and/or Experience: Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care, nursing or other paramedical training, home respiratory care experience, and degree in respiratory therapy or related science.

  • Able to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written.
  • Interpret a variety of communications, including verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual.
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information.
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities
  • Email transmission and communication.
  • Internet navigation and research.
  • Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, phones, and computers/tablets.
Physical Demands
  • Lift and carry office equipment at times.
  • Requires close vision to small print on computers/tablets and paperwork.
  • Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens.
  • Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment.
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening.
