Lead Building Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Lead Building Engineer to join our team at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS). As a member of the Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team, you will support the function of our clients Fulfillment Center operations.
In this vital role, you will lead shift operations, assign work orders, and provide technical/procedural training to coworkers and subcontractors. You will also monitor building systems operations and performance by performing preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
This role applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. You will be responsible for inspecting building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
You will also arrange, oversee, and inspect work performed by outside contractors, staying in sync with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead shift operations and assign work orders
- Provide technical/procedural training to coworkers and subcontractors
- Inspect building systems and perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair
- Arrange, oversee, and inspect work performed by outside contractors
- Stay in sync with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives
What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years of experience working with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling
- Effective communication, presentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles, as well as financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
- Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- Universal CFC certification
- Additional certification in one or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair
