The CAS Oil and Gas Accounting Services team provides accounting and financial reporting services for Upstream Oil and Gas Operators, Investors, and Royalty Portfolios. They leverage their deep understanding of industry requirements and stakeholder needs to deliver outstanding services through continuous process improvements and technology intervention.


The primary responsibility of the Manager in Oil & Gas is to provide accounting and financial management services to clients by delivering accurate, timely, and useful financial records. You will be tasked with preparing financial statements, tracking key performance indicators, and providing valuable insights to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of planning and administering large and complex outsourced accounting engagements.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of upstream oil and gas accounting department specialties, including General Ledger, A/P & JIB, and Revenue.
  • Oversee all aspects of staff development and performance, engaging hands-on with projects, process improvements, staff planning, and client engagement profitability.

Client Service Delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives in client organizations, delivering client service at the highest level.
  • Implement client service processes for each account and ensure adherence to processes and controls.
  • Configure software to align with the client's business processes while respecting the confidential nature of client relationships.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of duties.
  • Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction.

General Ledger and Month-end Close
  • Plan and manage service delivery for multiple clients independently.
  • Responsible for client engagement preparation activities, including assigning responsibilities to staff and reviewing client deliverables.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting principles.
  • Lead month-end close activities and preparation of financial reports.
  • Develop and implement procedures for major functional areas, documenting aspects of service delivery.

Business Development & Growth
  • Engage proactively in business development activities to support the overall growth of the practice.
  • Build rapport and maintain active relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance services, client experience, and team member skills.
  • Assist in hiring and recruiting high-quality staff.
  • Mentor staff by providing performance feedback and coaching.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • Six (6) plus years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting functions, including four (4) plus years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas accounting concepts related to financial statements.
  • High motivation, initiative, and positive attitude.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage Intacct, Wolfepak, and/or OGSQL.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
