Agricultural Specialist

At CHS Inc., we are seeking a skilled Custom Applicator to join our team in Ethan, SD. As a Custom Applicator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our customers by providing top-notch application services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizer and crop protection products to customers' fields, ensuring accurate and efficient application.
- Pick up and deliver products to customers as needed, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work with customers to educate them on products being applied, techniques utilized, and how to continue supporting them with products and services.
- Assist the sales staff in ensuring orders are correct and patron needs are met, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform warehouse work, including driving a loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance, to ensure a smooth operation.
- Lift and load products, up to 1-2 hours per day, to meet customer demands.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
- Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and work environment, adhering to CHS's high standards.
- Complete and document daily maintenance inspections, ensuring proper equipment maintenance is completed, including repairs and preventive maintenance.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in Agriculture Production, Operations, and/or Agriculture Application.
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
- Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays, and occasional weekends to meet business demands.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Agriculture background and customer experience preferred.
