Experienced Electrical Engineer

ERG Inc is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to develop electrical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings and power distribution systems at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland.
Key Responsibilities- Develop electrical designs for renovation projects, including electrical power service, emergency generator, surge suppression, lightning protection, grounding, bonding, control systems, and telecommunications systems.
- Conduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), electrical codes, and regulations, as well as end-user requirements.
- Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects.
- Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package.
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of design.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external, and the design team.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 8 years experience required; 10+ years is preferred.
- At least five years of experience with designing electrical power systems for new or upgraded buildings.
- Experience with the design of energetics-related safety systems (e.g., bonding & grounding, lightning protection systems) is preferred but not required.
- Must be fluent in NFPA 70 NEC.
- Experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations.
