Reporting to senior leadership, you will be integral to an established Project Management Office (PMO) within our division, focusing on portfolio management, leadership, and driving special initiatives. Furthermore, you will spearhead larger proposals, manage a team of project managers, and ensure successful project delivery while aligning with Leidos' Mission, Vision, and Values.

This role may offer remote work options but will necessitate some travel based on the requirements of our localized utility clients. Candidates must be located in or near Texas and be available for local and regional travel.

As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading project teams independently to complete engineering designs for various electrical infrastructure projects for construction clients nationwide
  • Taking responsibility for overall project performance, reporting, and nurturing strategic relationships
  • Managing project costs, schedules, and scopes, including developing recovery plans to remain within approved limits
  • Interfacing directly with clients and internal management to resolve issues and report on progress, costs, schedule adherence, and risks
  • Ensuring contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Driving results by coordinating with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
  • Documenting adherence to quality control processes
  • Communicating effectively with clients, internal project teams, various engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
  • Preparing bid documents, developing cost estimates, and responding to requests for proposals
  • Completing client invoicing and accruals within specified timeframes
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance existing partnerships and cultivate new relationships

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a closely related field
  • Mid-Level: A minimum of four (4) years of relevant Project Management experience in the electric power sector
  • Senior-Level: A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant Project Management experience in the electric power sector
  • Demonstrated familiarity with US electric utilities and understanding of business issues related to power delivery services and electric power infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience in planning, monitoring, and reporting project financial performance
  • Proven success in change management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, Pro Core, MS Project, P6) and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Periodic travel may be required; candidates should possess a valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a consulting environment for US electric utilities
  • PMP Certification
  • Previous experience with Substation and/or Transmission Line projects
