Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and service. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our company, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with our patients.

• Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.

• Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information.
• Report, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits.
• Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
