Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our medical education mission as a full-time, dually-employed, clinical faculty appointment with the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers and clinical employment with IU Health South Central Region.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be a practicing physician in any specialty, with preference given to those in primary care, who has experience in leading medical education teams/projects, especially those related to the clinical education of medical students. Responsibilities will include serving as the Assistant Regional Campus Dean/Center Director and managing the phase 2/3 (third and fourth year clinical) curriculum on the IUSM-Bloomington campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving as the Assistant Regional Campus Dean/Center Director
  • Managing the phase 2/3 (third and fourth year clinical) curriculum on the IUSM-Bloomington campus
  • Practicing clinically (0.5 FTE) in the IU Health South Central Region in their specialty
  • Assisting with operational needs at the IUSM-Bloomington campus
  • Participating as a clinical preceptor in the phase 2-3 course(s)
Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree required: MD/DO/MBBS
  • Candidates will be reviewed for all ranks within the Clinical Track; preference given to those who have achieved the rank of Associate Professor or Professor or who have demonstrated achievement of the requirements for appointment at the Associate Professor level or above
  • Board certified/board eligible in their medical specialty required; Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics preferred but not required
  • An active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License, or the ability to obtain an unrestricted Indiana Medical License required
