Position Summary:

The role of the School-Based Mental Health Counselor involves delivering essential mental health services to students at designated educational institutions. This position also includes providing guidance and support to school personnel to enhance the overall mental health objectives of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct mental health interventions, including intake assessments, individual, family, and group therapy, as well as crisis management for assigned students.
  • Gather comprehensive information about students through interviews, assessments, and evaluation of their daily functioning in various settings.
  • Identify ongoing support needs, resources, and treatment plans to assist students effectively.
  • Complete and maintain treatment plans, updates, managed care authorizations, and all necessary documentation.
  • Conduct diagnostic and bio-psychological assessments, clinical notes, referrals, and treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and clinical supervision sessions.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all records related to student treatment.
  • Provide therapeutic services while managing an assigned caseload.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Managers and multidisciplinary team members to create and implement effective treatment plans and assessments.
  • Document case management notes and input data into relevant systems as required.
  • Submit timely and accurate documentation to validate services provided.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of common diagnoses and treatments for school-aged children, with the ability to facilitate positive change in an educational setting.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mental health services.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
Additional Information:

Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000 per year
Sign-on Bonus: Available options
