As a Head Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of participants and facility users of all ages and backgrounds in aquatic environments. Your expertise in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques, as well as your ability to physically make rescues as required, will be essential in maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities include maintaining operation of pools, managing conditions of pool water, monitoring safe use of pools by patrols, recruiting staff, scheduling aquatics programs and activities, and setting up the pool for varied programs and use.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

* High school diploma or equivalent
* One (1) year of aquatics experience inclusive of aquatics programming, pool facility management, and working with the public, groups, and organizations

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Knowledge of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
* Knowledge of basic first aid techniques necessary to treat injuries that may occur in a pool environment
* Skill in swimming and applying lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
* Ability to physically make rescues as required
* Knowledge of pool equipment and proper pool chemistry

**Job Contingencies and Special Requirements:**

* Pass a pre-employment criminal background check
* Hold Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, First Aid Certification, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification within the required timeframes
* Hold a Loudoun County-approved Pool Operator's License

We offer a competitive salary and a $3,000.00 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
