Key Responsibilities:The Echo Technician will:
- Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic examinations as per established protocols under physician supervision.
- Generate images of internal bodily structures to assist in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions.
- Oversee and guide ultrasound staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of ultrasound equipment.
Education:
- Completion of a diploma or certificate program from an accredited Ultrasound institution is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT) is mandatory, or equivalent credentials from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
- Utilize ultrasound technology to emit high-frequency sound waves to targeted areas, capturing quality images that reflect the structure and function of tissues and organs.
- Document and present findings to physicians for accurate diagnosis.
- Provide direct patient care, including assessing patient readiness and monitoring vital signs during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality throughout all processes.
- Prepare examination rooms and patients for ultrasound procedures.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to confirm operational readiness.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
