Job Description
We are looking for a skilled CNC Machine Operations Specialist III to perform machine setup and operation tasks on various CNC machines, including HMC, VMC, HTL, VTL, Swiss Screw, Multi-Axis lathes, Transfer machines, and Robots. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to determine work holding, tool selection, and edit programs extensively when needed. They will also be responsible for mentoring others in machining, possessing good organizational, math, communication, and computer skills, and being able to work in a team environment with varying personalities and communication styles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • A minimum of 4-year related machining experience, training, or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and communicate effectively with others at all levels
  • Thoroughly carry out instructions given in any form, deal effectively with problems and situations, determine causes of operating errors, and decide the best course of action
  • Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, trigonometry, calculations of speed, feed, chip load, angles, ratios, arc, and circles, taper, etc.
  • Quality skills, including demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, identifying surface finishes, measuring parts correctly, ensuring specifications are met, visually inspecting parts to specified standards, interpreting data from CMM and manual measurements, making adjustments to machining processes to achieve dimensional and visual compliance
  • Quantity skills, including meeting productivity standards, completing work in allotted time, striving to increase productivity, identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Measuring ability, including proper use of measuring instruments, performing complex measurements and part layout, first part inspection, and in-process inspections
