Position Overview:
Tenet-AZ Region is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to take on the role of Preoperative Supervisor. This position is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our preoperative services.

Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor will have direct oversight of the assigned department, ensuring that all clinical activities are conducted with the highest standards of care. Responsibilities include:

  • Assuming accountability for all clinical supervision activities during shifts.
  • Monitoring and evaluating staffing and scheduling requirements.
  • Leading the hiring, development, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Exhibiting clinical and technical competence while applying critical thinking skills for effective problem-solving.
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and patient satisfaction while managing employee engagement and financial outcomes.
  • Promoting excellent customer service and acting as a liaison among physicians, staff, patients, and families.

Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with all organizational levels and external customers. The ability to make independent decisions in high-pressure situations is essential, along with:

  • Objectivity in decision-making supported by factual evidence.
  • Proactive anticipation and management of potential issues and risks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes supervising other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
A Nursing Degree from an accredited institution is required, with a Bachelor's degree or the commitment to obtain one within two years.

Preferred Education:
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Minimum Experience:
At least five years of relevant clinical nursing experience is required.

Preferred Experience:
Management experience, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.

Licensure:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona is mandatory. Additional certifications such as CPR and ACLS may be required based on specific departmental needs.
