Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and project partners, overseeing the comprehensive power systems design process for assigned projects. Your expertise may encompass various areas, including substation design, utility coordination, relaying and protection, switchgear automation, dynamic load analysis, SCADA design, Vdc distribution, distributed energy resources, renewable energy generation, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, and campus distribution for medium and high voltage. You will develop innovative design solutions tailored to project, client, and partner needs, leading the team in implementing these solutions across diverse sectors such as power, mission-critical operations, manufacturing, automotive, higher education, pharmaceuticals, federal, and institutional markets.

Qualifications of Our Most Successful Lead Electrical Systems Engineers:
  • BSEE from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Professional engineering registration is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in various states as necessary.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing MV or HV power distribution, generation, and/or transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in power engineering design software and tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a team-oriented environment, including mentoring, delegating tasks, and providing constructive feedback.
Essential Skills for Success:
  • Experience in medium and/or high voltage substation design.
  • Expertise in relaying, protection, and metering design, including microprocessor-based devices.
  • Knowledge of switchgear/substation automation sequences.
  • Experience in facilitating SCADA implementation.
  • Coordination with utility companies for compliance and design standards.
  • Familiarity with distributed energy resources and renewable energy technologies.
  • Understanding of battery energy storage systems and grid-scale photovoltaic technology.
