Job Summary:

The Clinical Psychologist position at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our nation's veterans. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate psychologist to join our team as a Clinical Psychologist. This role will provide comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for veterans with various mental health issues.

About the Role:

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans for our patients. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, including interviews, behavioral observations, and psychometric testing. Your expertise will help identify the most suitable treatment approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or other evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including diagnostic interviews, behavioral observations, and psychometric testing
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or other evidence-based approaches
  • Conduct regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and compassion within the healthcare team

Requirements:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an internship or fellowship program in clinical psychology
  • Current licensure as a psychologist in the state of Texas (or ability to obtain licensure within six months)
  • At least two years of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
