The Retail Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing store activities to ensure that all objectives and timelines are effectively communicated and achieved. This role provides strategic direction to the store management team in planning, organizing, and executing operations at the retail level. The leader manages daily store functions, including recruitment, employee management, and operational scheduling to guarantee efficient and high-quality store performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages retail store activities to optimize performance.
  • Approves supply and operational expenditures while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Utilizes electronic scheduling systems to prepare and review management schedules.
  • Handles store opening and closing procedures, including financial transactions and task delegation.
  • Facilitates recruitment, selection, and onboarding of team members, providing training and support as necessary.
  • Addresses customer concerns that require managerial intervention, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Oversees inventory management processes, including cycle counts and merchandise handling, while reporting discrepancies to management.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, reporting any violations as needed.
  • Delegates responsibilities and tasks to team members to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conducts regular store meetings to communicate goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
  • Implements performance evaluations for team members, addressing any performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains open communication regarding product trends and customer feedback with the management team.
  • Processes employee transactions and monitors compliance with retail policies.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Assumes responsibilities of the Assistant Manager when required.
  • Builds and nurtures effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with various teams to foster a positive work environment and establish trust throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a relevant field along with three years of experience in retail management or equivalent education/experience. Strong knowledge of budgeting, inventory control, and visual merchandising techniques is essential. Proven ability to lead retail operations to achieve optimal results.

Additional Requirements

Must maintain a driving record that meets insurance requirements and pass a background check, including substance screening, prior to employment.
