Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Vernovis. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating cross-functional oversight and governance to ensure all aspects of the IT Data Center portfolio are included in short-medium-long term planning and prioritization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cross-functional oversight and governance to ensure all aspects of the IT Data Center portfolio are included in short-medium-long term planning and prioritization.
  • Understand Internal Audit findings and work on a comprehensive plan to remediate those.
  • Provide the organization with visibility into the long-term roadmap for functional and technical changes to the portfolio.
  • Ensure all analysts are aligned on expectations for the quality and thoroughness of deliverables; review the work of less experienced staff and ensure consistency across the portfolio.
  • Work closely with IT Infrastructure Architects, IT Application, IT Office of the CIO, and business unit professionals, project managers and other areas of NiSource, and Service Providers to perform and/or support operational processes, including procurement and payment processing, spending optimization, and expense management related to infrastructure services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • 4+ years of experience in medium-to-large Data Center operations.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Server Administration, Active Directory Administration, VMWare vCenter administration, VMware vRealize (vRA) Automation, VMWare vRealize Operations (vROps) Automation, etc.
  • Experience working closely with service providers and delegating operational activities to them, as directed by the manager.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components, trends, and best practices.
  • Solid skills with enterprise-class servers, operating systems and productivity software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
