Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Akumin. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images of Nuclear Medicine studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images of Nuclear Medicine studies.
  • Ensure radiation safety and regulations are followed, including proper documentation and technique when working with patients and radioactive materials.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport.
  • Exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation.
  • May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

Work Environment:

More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk.

Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift patients.
