Job Summary

Regional Cancer Care Associates is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator to serve as a medical liaison among the practice, hospital, support services, and payors. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to perform a wide range of tasks, including coordinating physician referrals, scheduling appointments, and resolving insurance billing issues. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred, and at least two years of experience in medical coding, billing, or patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Contacts patients to obtain basic chart information and coordinates physician referrals
  • Schedules oncology-related medical appointments and resolves insurance billing issues
  • Ensures accurate documentation in the medical chart and maintains patient demographics
  • Provides educational materials to patients and families and refers them to agencies and services as needed
  • Networks within the community to learn about and maintain an agency and services resource list

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • At least two years of experience in medical coding, billing, or patient advocacy
  • Proficiency with computer systems, medical billing systems, and Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
  • Ability to verbally articulate information and questions with others
