Job Summary:

The Distribution Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper use and care of medical equipment. As a representative of Procare Home Medical, this individual must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to effectively communicate with patients and staff. The Distribution Technician is responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining medical equipment, as well as providing instruction to patients on its proper use.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, repair, and maintain medical equipment, including home medical equipment, respiratory, and rehab equipment.
  • Provide instruction to patients on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
  • Represent Procare Home Medical to customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay aware of changes in patient conditions and needs, and communicate these concerns to other staff members.
Physical Demands:
  • The physical demands of this role include frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent stooping and bending when handling equipment and supplies.
  • Regularly requires sitting, standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to withstand working in an open environment, where both heat and cold may be extreme.
Mental Demands:
  • Ability to think quickly in response to customer requests and complaints.
  • Fluency in English (read, write, and speak) is required.
  • Ability to maintain sharp focus, be organized, and meet objectives.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and to double-check those figures.
Position Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Excellent customer relations, communication, and teaching skills (Required)
  • Two years of HME/DME experience (Preferred)
  • Stockroom experience (Preferred)
  • Clean Driver's record, past 36 months (Required)
  • Alaska Driver's license (Required)

Procare Home Medical offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off for full-time employees. Starting base compensation is $22.00 per hour, based on experience.
