Job Overview
As a member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, the EHS Compliance Specialist will prioritize workplace safety and manage safety systems. You will take the lead in identifying and mitigating workplace safety hazards and environmental impacts. Key responsibilities include evaluating solutions, implementing safety programs, and ensuring adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a safety advocate and enhance safety program initiatives
- Serve as a technical expert in EHS compliance and risk management
- Engage in incident investigations and analyze accident statistics
- Collaborate with Human Resources on return-to-work programs
- Conduct safety and ergonomic assessments
- Oversee environmental programs and perform EHS evaluations
- Design and deliver EHS training sessions
- Execute all job functions in a safe and ethical manner
- Operate within ISO standards and regulatory frameworks
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 5+ years of experience in safety or environmental roles within manufacturing
- Knowledge of EHS regulatory compliance
- Strong technical and project management capabilities
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-driven and capable of working independently or collaboratively
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field preferred
- Completion of OSHA 30 hr course or equivalent
- Familiarity with safety programs such as ISO 9001 and VPP
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is a plus
- Physical capability to lift 30 to 50 pounds
