Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Government and Contractor engineers to execute Facility Engineering Program tasks.
  • Possess experience in 3D design utilizing solid modeling software such as SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or Pro-E.
  • Deliver expert engineering support for HVAC planning in Contractor-supported locations and facilities.
  • Support equipment within designated strategic, tactical, and mobile facilities or mission equipment shelters, both inside and outside secure areas.
  • Conduct testing and balancing services for air and water systems.
  • Evaluate engineering design proposals, drawings, specifications, and other technical documents, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Advise Government engineers on all facets of HVAC facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Analyze reports and studies to identify deficiencies and contribute to the planning of construction or redesign initiatives.
  • Utilize appropriate software and hardware tools to monitor load changes and other parameters related to design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Establish energy and heat load budgets to identify current deficiencies, anticipate future needs, and estimate factors for construction planning.
  • Assess and recommend load control methods, including remote and tele-metering techniques, to optimize utility demand and costs.
  • Prepare design concepts, program development documents, cost estimates, economic analyses, plans, specifications, and all related construction project documentation for projects executed through contracts or Government resources.
  • Inspect construction projects or existing facilities to identify deficiencies, recommend modifications, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians in related disciplines.
  • Maintain effective communication and technical liaison between on-site technicians and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, accompanied by eight years of diverse professional engineering experience.
  • Experience in application engineering, including design, installation, operation, and maintenance of automatic control systems.
  • Supervisory experience in plant operations, maintenance, and repair of physical plant systems and equipment, particularly large-scale HVAC plants and distribution systems.
  • Resident engineering experience on construction projects involving complex and sophisticated HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with Direct Digital Control (DDC) and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Professional registration is preferred.
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams in accordance with ANSI standards.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Final Top-Secret Clearance based on a TIER 5 Background Investigation and favorable eligibility determination for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) in accordance with ICD 704.
