Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist will provide therapeutic supports to students in Polk County Public Schools to enhance their educational program and access to their educational environment and curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for each child referred for occupational therapy support.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to form goals and accommodations to support student access to their education.
  • Promote student independence in the educational environment.
  • Recommend and fabricate equipment and assistive devices as needed.
  • Improve student motor performance and social-emotional skills.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
  • Meeting the certification requirements by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT).
  • A current Florida Department of Health Occupational Therapy state practice license.
Work Environment

The Occupational Therapist will work in a variety of settings, including educational outdoor environments, and will be required to sit, stand, and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
