About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement standard drafting practices and adhere to HDR's CAD standards.
  • Perform design tasks to create clear and constructible plans, details, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize Civil 3D to create and analyze grading, surfaces, points, volumes, alignments, and sections.
  • Develop 3D models of civil and structural features using HDR's standards and tools.
  • Collaborate with Sr. CAD and Sr. Engineer to detail reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures.
  • Generate plans, sections, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D from sketches and/or verbal instructions.
  • Make changes to electronic drawings using redlines provided by others.
  • Print and plot drawing sets for submittals and electronically through Bluebeam or Adobe.
  • Implement and use HDR and/or client CAD standards on projects.
  • Adhere to all QC protocols and check work product prior to submission.
  • Perform checking and associated documentation of other work products for adherence to QC protocols and standards.
  • Conduct horizontal and vertical datum conversions using online tools.
  • Manage projects using AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager interface.
  • Work as lead CAD on large projects and learn to assemble drawing packages without assistance.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits.
