Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineering Manager to join our Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Operating Unit (OU) Engineering Leadership team at Northrop Grumman.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Drive agility and operational efficiency in System Engineering and its associated processes and tools.
  • Attract, develop, advise, assess, promote, and retain highly qualified engineering workforce.
  • Manage team member performance, create and deliver performance evaluations, oversee the salary review process, and supervise employee development and mentoring efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in STEM and at least 8 years of technical experience or Masters and 6 years' experience in System Engineering or associated engineering discipline.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills including team building and navigation, personnel - career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning, and allocation.
  • Current, active Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in System Engineering related to the development and delivery of US Army air defense command and control systems.
  • Proven technical management experience preferably in either program IPT, R&D or Advanced Systems, technology, and/or functional environments.
  • Demonstrated behavior as a driver for change and continuous improvement.
