Responsibilities

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age and have at least one year of experience working with children under 13 years of age, preferably in an organized setting.

• High school diploma or GED and Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.

• Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a genuine interest in working with people.

• Meet all guidelines and requirements for Assistant Teacher mandated by the Office of Children & Family Services.

• First Aid Certified or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to supervise children by sight and sound at all times, remaining calm and objective in potentially stressful situations.

• Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues, such as climbing or aggressive behavior.

• Ability to lift young children and objects up to 40 lbs, with the capacity to work in all elements and move around the room to assist children and supervise daily activities.
