Job Summary

As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns. This role requires a strong foundation in neonatal nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement and evaluate care for infants in the NICU.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.
  • Attend deliveries, perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments, and create plans of care for newborns.
  • Administer medications, complete treatments, and provide support and education to families on homecare, treatments, adoption, and support groups.
  • Assist in high-risk deliveries, resuscitation, and delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice.
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a well-baby nursery as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a Level 2 or 3 Nursery - preferred.
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in acute care - preferred.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
