Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Communication Liaison to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our customer service team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional communication and support throughout their healthcare journey.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience. You will work a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule with flexibility to work any 8-hour shift during normal business hours. Occasional overtime, days, evenings, nights, every other weekend, and every other holiday may be required to support our 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients promptly and respond to their inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Record and deliver messages accurately, following established protocols.
  • Provide patients with timely information about their calls and expected outcomes.
  • Verify patient information and record all call details within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Schedule or cancel appointments as needed.
  • Page individual providers when necessary, adhering to our written protocols.
  • Perform various administrative tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient, employee, or financial records.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Ability to work onsite at Western Reserve Hospital.
  • Current flu vaccination.
  • Flexibility to work any 8-hour shift during normal business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous medical assistant experience.
  • At least one year of medical receptionist experience.
  • Six months or more of experience working in a call center environment.
  • Proficiency in operating phone systems, computers, and related business equipment.
