Job Summary
As an Aviation Career Development Specialist at StandardAero, you will play a critical role in the success of our day-to-day operations. With on-the-job training and a team of experts, you will be set up for success in this dynamic and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate metal cleaning equipment such as vapor blasters, wheelabrators, deburrers, and blast cabinets using a variety of blast media to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other material from surfaces of metal parts, castings, and other metal products.
- Perform in-process cleaning, air drying, and buffing.
- Identify and segregate ferrous, non-ferrous, and titanium parts for specific cleaning processes.
- Immerse metal products in chemical cleaning and stripping solutions.
- Perform mechanical cleaning of parts such as grit blasting, vapor blasting, and glass beading.
- Prepare and mask surfaces prior to cleaning.
- Prepare parts for non-destructive testing.
- Clean and maintain cleaning tanks and equipment, monitor chemicals through titration checks.
- Participate in the cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health, and safety, and environmental management practices.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Thorough knowledge of titrating chemicals.
- Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and the handling of hazardous materials/chemicals.
- Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, MSDS labels, and original equipment manufacturer manuals for cleaning and related processes.
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
