KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | YOUR ROLE
  • Guide the creation of computer science and technology education courses, enhancing our current S.T.E.A.M. initiatives.
  • Possess proficiency in teaching various technology education topics, including but not limited to: online safety, digital citizenship, programming languages, software and hardware design, graphic and web design, digital marketing, photography, artificial intelligence, and 3-D printing.
  • Formulate Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives for students and participate in meetings when possible.
  • Accurately document and analyze individual student data.
  • Design and modify lesson plans to align with the educational curriculum.
  • Apply designated teaching strategies as required.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student assignments.
  • Manage classroom dynamics and monitor student behavior.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Conduct assessments for students as necessary.
  • Maintain communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Execute administrative tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS | YOUR BACKGROUND
  • 1 to 3 years of experience teaching middle and high school students.
  • Experience in instructing students requiring tailored educational approaches and those facing emotional or learning challenges.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Connecticut teacher certification, with the ability to cross-endorse in Computer Science or Technology Education for grades 7-12; dual certification in Computer Science/Technology Education and Special Education is advantageous.
