Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach credit courses in Communication Studies and Theater at Blue Ridge Community College. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in the specific discipline and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach one or more classes of a basic first year communication course that concentrates on public speaking and presentation as well as interpersonal and intercultural communication.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Communication Studies or a related field.
  • At least 18 graduate credit hours in the specific discipline.
  • Teaching experience and a strong record of student success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Communication Studies or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the community college level.
