About the Role

As a Tower Technician II at MasTec Network Solutions, you will play a critical role in expanding technology for a better community. You will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in providing the highest level of quality service to our customers and communities while maintaining our commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

As a Tower Technician II, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. Your duties will include:

  • Understanding and implementing MasTec Network Solutions Health Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Understanding and implementing Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI).
  • Climbing towers and ladders at various heights.
  • Conducting erection of various tower types.
  • Off-loading material and inventory.
  • Preparing and cleaning sites.
  • Installing new carriers on new build and existing towers.
  • Assisting in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles.
  • Assisting in the assembly of the monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers.
  • Assisting in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas.
  • Assisting in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide.
  • Assisting in the installation of all aspects of ell site foundations, grounding, and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable.
  • Serving as a mentor to new less experienced technicians.
  • Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • A track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
  • The ability to figure out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work.
  • A desire for long-term projects.
  • The ability to work effectively with your team.
  • A High School Degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of tower experience.
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions per prints.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • Possession of a PWSA certification is a plus.
  • The ability to climb towers, pick up 50 lbs., and work up to 12 hours.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions.
