About the Job

The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on various oil and gas projects, including pipelines, compressor, meter, and pump stations, and other related areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Conduct simulations using Aspen One program, AFT products, and other relevant tools.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects, including pipeline M&R stations and compressor stations.
  • Design mechanical components for project needs and requirements.
  • Apply strong knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Produce engineering calculations and reports.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
  • Create project specifications and datasheets for procurement packages.
  • Review production drawings, 3D models, ISO drawings, and vendor drawings.
  • Work closely with other disciplines, including Piping, Electrical, I&C, Structural, and Civil.
  • Attend meetings with clients as needed.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Successful completion of the FE or EIT exam preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
