Position Summary:
Delivers direct nursing care in environments where patients necessitate intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare institution.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Gathers comprehensive information relevant to the healthcare consumer's health and/or circumstances.
- Prioritizes and optimizes healthcare consumer flow by triaging each individual using age-appropriate and culturally sensitive methods, expediting those in need of immediate attention.
- Evaluates assessment data to identify diagnoses or issues.
- Establishes expected outcomes for a personalized care plan tailored to the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Implements, coordinates, and educates to foster health and ensure a safe practice environment.
- Assesses progress towards achieving outcomes.
- Communicates proficiently across various formats in all practice areas.
- Exhibits leadership within the professional practice environment and the nursing field.
- Attains knowledge and skills that reflect contemporary nursing practices.
- Applies the existing body of evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in healthcare to Emergency Nursing, ensuring care is delivered based on patients' age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and operates safely.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- No prior experience necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Continuous verbal communication to convey information.
- Regular standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
