Job Summary

WRAL-TV is seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist to provide end-user computing support across all CBC business lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, support, and upkeep of IT systems, including workstations, telephony, security tools, inventory management, and service desk ticketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the problem resolution process from initial call to resolution.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain PC and tablet systems running various operating systems.
  • Assist with Cellular and Mobile account management.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade computer software and hardware.
  • Maintain software and hardware inventory tracking systems and configuration documentation for deployed systems.
  • Ensure licensing is maintained properly for deployed systems through consistent documentation of license use.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures and training documentation.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation.
  • Troubleshoot end-user computer problems remotely.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two or more years' experience in desktop support.
  • Proficient with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft O365, Windows 10 and 11, Virus and Malware defense, and security best practices.
  • Ability to lift PC and server systems as appropriate.
  • Self-initiative, exemplary communications, and customer services skills.
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.
  • Situational critical thinking as part of the troubleshooting regimen.
  • A college degree, relevant technical certifications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with an enterprise ticketing solution such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or ServiceDesk Plus.
