Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Bridge Inspection Team Leader within our esteemed Transportation Group. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a variety of stimulating and complex projects.

Work Environment
This role operates under a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence three days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections in compliance with the standards set by MassDOT, MBTA, and RIDOT, as well as FHWA NBIS and NTIS regulations.
  • Oversee team members and coordinate with access and equipment vendors.
  • Perform inspections at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts, as well as other bridge inspection access tools.
  • Work in confined spaces and near live traffic, as well as in or around water and under various weather conditions.
  • Be available for overnight work, including tasks within railroad right-of-way.
  • Compile inspection reports, which may involve creating sketches, calculating NBE/NTE totals and defect quantities, and estimating preliminary construction costs for repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct quality control assessments of work produced by others.
  • Additional responsibilities may include preparing bridge load rating calculations and reports using specialized analysis software, developing repair and rehabilitation plans and specifications, estimating construction costs, and providing construction phase services such as submittal reviews and field observations.
