Advanced Heart Failure Unit Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Advanced Heart Failure Unit. The RN will assess, diagnose, and develop individualized plans of care for patients with severe heart failure, pre/post heart transplant, and pulmonary hypertension. The RN will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and education to patients and families.
Responsibilities:
Assess and admit patients to the Advanced Heart Failure Unit
Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and education to patients and families
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the physician
Educate patients and families on heart failure management and self-care
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
Current RN license in Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire
